About Cookes Of Cley

Cookes of Cley is situated on the High Street opposite the famous Cley Windmill. Located within walking distance of shingle beaches and Cley marshes, it is ideal for those wishing to explore the famous Cley marsh bird reserve, the North Norfolk Coast Path or the nearby coastal towns of Cromer, Hunstanton, Sheringham or Blakeney.

Sitting in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Cley Next the Sea is one of the many pretty villages scattered along the North Norfolk coast where traditional flint cottages and imposing medieval churches are ready to be explored. As well as a fine Delicatessen stocking excellent local produce, home baked bread and a wide variety of wonderful food, the village also has a pottery and a smoke house with a wide range of local fish.

With boat trips to the seal colony, the wonderful village of Blakeney is only a mile away. The Georgian market town of Holt is 3 miles to the south. Sheringham, holder of a Blue Flag beach award is 8 miles to the east and the fishing town, and port, of Wells-next-the-Sea, is 10 miles to the west.

The Coastal Path provides a route for those on foot to explore and can be followed to Holme Next the Sea where it joins the ancient Peddars Way National Trail. The cycle routes also take you through villages that are often missed by car.

With many delights to be found in North Norfolk, plus a whole host of activities, we aim to provide you with the perfect ideal base for refueling, good old fashioned relaxing and enjoying your activities.

Whether you are coming for a cream tea, light lunch or to stay with us, you will receive a very warm welcome at Cookes of Cley.
